TLC Centre

The TLC Centre is a telehealthcare demonstration facility that showcases the latest assistive technology in action. The aim of the TLC Centre is to demonstrate how telehealthcare can be used to support independent living, provide greater access to care, improve health outcomes and reduce the burden on carers. Designed for carers, occupational therapists, industry professionals and family members of people who require extra assistance, the TLC Centre gives people the opportunity to try the technology for themselves. The TLC Centre also offers training to assist industry professionals to identify technological solutions to suit the needs of their clients.
 
The TLC Centre is broken into areas that focus on conditions or problems, providing literature and working technology solutions to support each condition or problem.
Focus areas includes:
  • Falls prevention
  • Chronic disease management
  • Assisting people living with physical disabilities
  • Supporting carers of palliative patients
  • Managing dementia
  • Assisting people with sensory impairment
 
 
   
The TLC Centre Aims to:
  • Increase awareness about readily available assistive technologies and telehealthcare to the community, government and industry experts involved in aged, disability, community and health care.
  • Provide a venue for launching new technologies as they become commercially available in the market place.
  • Provide an environment where health industry professionals can be educated in the application, use and benefits of assistive technologies.
  • Educate consumers on the benefits of assistive technologies and telehealthcare, and enhance their understanding and acceptance of telehealthcare for supporting independent living.
